As heard on the radio this morning, this will be a great weekend to visit the Columbia River Gorge.
Hood River Hops Fest is Saturday. The family friendly event features a variety of food vendors, over 50 breweries with over 75 fresh hop beers, rocking live music, and an awesome collectable mug
The folks at Backwoods Brewing in Carson are a big part of the Bigfoot Bash at Logtoberfest. 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Free admission. Engage and experience chain saw art, wooden crafts, vintage logging equipment demonstrations, Sasquatch vendors, autumn plants, pumpkins and more. Kids can make apple cider with apples donated by A & J Select Market, using a cider press courtesy of Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum. Stevenson High School cheerleaders will be on hand to help the little ones paint pumpkins to take home too.
Just down the road from Carson, Skamania Lodge near Stevenson is holding a benefit concert for the Red Cross on Saturday. Tom Grant and Shelly Rudolph will be performing from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 100% of the proceeds will go the Southwest Washington Chapter of the American Red Cross, which helped care for local evacuees during the Eagle Creek Fire.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR for a couple of upcoming festivals: the Portland Kolsch Festival is coming up Saturday Oct. 14th at Z-Haus Brewing in SE. On that same day, OC-Toberfest will take place at Feckin Irish Brewing in Oregon City.
