The EliminatorNews/Talk 860 KPAM - The Eliminator Contest Rules

How to Enter:

  • Contest begins June 05, 2017 at 7 am PST.
  • Listen for the announcements on News-Talk 860 KPAM. Monday through Friday between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm from June 05, 2017 through June 23, 2017 to give the cue to call in to 503-225-0860 or 1-877-774-5726.  News-Talk 860 KPAM will play a cue to call in once during each of the following three (3) shows:  First Edition, Todd Schnitt, and Terry Boyd’s World.
  • News-Talk 860 KPAM will randomly select a caller to put on the air.
  • Each randomly selected caller will receive Eighty Six Dollars ($86.00) for participating.
  • News-Talk 860 KPAM will instruct the listener on the air to remove a prize from The Eliminator Board that they would not want to win.  The removed prize will stay off of The Eliminator Board for the duration of the contest.
  • Each day The Eliminator Board will have fewer prizes until there is only one (1) prize left on The Eliminator Board.  In total there will be three (3) qualifiers per weekday for a total of forty-four (44) qualifying listeners for the duration of the contest, except on June 23, 2017 when (2) qualifiers will be selected during First Edition, and Terry Boyd’s World.
  • The winner of the final prize will be chosen by random drawing at an on-site party at a location and time to be determined at a later date.  All forty-four (44) listeners selected to be on air will be invited to attend.  The qualifying listeners must show proof of identification in order to enter the Grand Prize random drawing party and qualify for the Grand Prize.
  • Contest ends on June 23, 2017 at 6 pm PST.

Eligibility:

  • Must be 18 years or older at the time name is selected to win.  Winner will be required to show proof of identity, including address, phone number, and/or date of birth when prize is claimed at News-Talk 860 KPAM. News-Talk 860 KPAM reserves the right to resolve confusion in identity through other reasonable means.
  • Contest participants must live within 100 radius of News-Talk 860 KPAM, located at 6605 SE Lake Rd., Portland, OR 97222, and must be able to pick the prize in person.
  • Employees of News-Talk 860 KPAM, Pamplin Communications, their parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, sponsoring clients, advertisers or prize providers, their licensees or agents, and their families are not eligible to enter to win any News-Talk 860 KPAM contest.
  • No purchase necessary. Making a purchase does not improve chances of winning.  
  • Odds of winning depend on the number of listeners calling in to be put on air.  The odds of winning the Grand Prize depend on the number of qualifying listeners who attend the Grand Prize random drawing party.
  • This contest is void where prohibited.

Prizes:

  • Each of the forty-five (45) different prizes on The Eliminator Board is valued at approximately $2,000.00.
  • The forty-four (44) qualifying listeners must be present at the final prize random drawing in order to be eligible to win the Grand Prize.  News-Talk 860 KPAM will contact each qualifying listener and notify them of the location and time of the Grand Prize random drawing party.
  • Eligibility to win the Grand Prize is non-transferable and may not be sold or exchanged for cash, goods, or services.
  • Winners must complete a News-Talk 860 KPAM Winner Sheet and Release Form, which includes winner’s name, address, phone number, and social security number for tax purposes.
  • Winners are responsible for claiming all taxes, including state and federal income taxes, on contest prizes.  A 1099-MISC can be filed by winners should a prize or aggregate of prizes exceed $600.00 during a calendar year for a particular winner.

Winners’ Obligations:

  • Winner consents to use of his/her name, likeness, voice or any other representation by News-Talk 860 KPAM for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes (except where prohibited) including any trade publication release or website posting discussing winner’s involvement in the contest.
  • Winner guarantees that winner is eligible to win and understands that News-Talk 860 KPAM may forfeit any prize for which winner is ineligible.
  • Winner must comply with all contest rules as published by News-Talk 860 KPAM or aired on News-Talk 860 KPAM.
  • All expenses not specifically mentioned herein are solely winner’s responsibility.
  • News-Talk 860 KPAM, Pamplin Communications, their parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, sponsoring clients, advertisers or prize providers, their licensees or agents are released from any and all liability and will be indemnified and held harmless by the winner from injury or damage of any kind that may be sustained in connection with the prize or from failure of the winner to follow proper procedures for claiming the prize. Winner must sign a Waiver and Release of Liability for News-Talk 860 KPAM in connection with the prize.

Station’s Privileges:

  • All contests may be revised, withdrawn, concluded, extended or modified instantly without prior notification.
  • All rules are subject to change.  Once the contest begins, News-Talk 860 KPAM will announce any changes to the contest rules as soon as possible.
  • News-Talk 860 KPAM is not responsible for telephone company malfunctions or failure of other equipment utilized as part of the contest.
  • In the event of ties or other disputes, the decision of News-Talk 860 KPAM management shall be final.
  • News-Talk 860 KPAM reserves the right to void contest winner’s prize claim in the event of fraud, collusion, tampering, deception or other similar malfeasance.
  • Phone, fax, e-mail, or mailed requests for official rules will be responded to via First Class U.S. mail.
  • Copies of these official rules will be made available in the News-Talk 860 KPAM offices during regular business hours from 9 am until 5 pm PST.
