Michael Allen Harrison, Julianne Johnson and Patrick Lamb perform two concerts Saturday the 6th at the Rivercrest Community Church at five and 8pm. Proceeds are generously offered to the kids in the Parkrose and surrounding school districts. The Gateway Homeless Project and A Safe Haven for Youth are a couple of the groups that need support. Tickets available at Safeway Tickets West or by phone 503-224-8499. 224-8499. 30 Year Celebration

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra begins its 30 Year Celebration season with its premiere concert on Saturday, September 13 at 3 pm and Sunday, September 14 at 7 pm. Music Director and Conductor Salvador Brotons, enters his 18th season leading The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, conducting Rhapsody on a theme of Paginini, Opus 43 by Rachmaninoff, with guest pianist Geisa Dutra. Other works will include Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture and Symphony #4 by Tchaikovsky.

[Previously the Village of Willamette Arts Festival] the shows 9th year 2008 includes a beautiful new venue for the show. Living with Parkinson’s Disease

A 90 minute Presentation: Thursday, Sept. 25, at 11:30am

 Linda Hunt, Ph. D., occupational therapist and associate professor, School of Occupational Therapy at Pacific University, will teach skills and convey information for increasing function at home and in the community. In addition to an overview of the disease, this workshop includes learning home exercises to improve flexibility, and adaptive strategies to improve activities of daily living such as enjoying meals, handwriting, dressing, and transitional movements like sitting and standing.

The Portland Out of the Darkness Community Walk

The Portland Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a fundraising walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). There are 100 Out of the Darkness Community Walks taking place throughout the U.S. this fall. Nationally, more than 35,000 walkers are expected to participate.
